Despite being open for over a year, the Perry Hotel Key West continues to collect accolades from design critics, hotel guests & foodies. Along with its onsite restaurant Matt’s Stock Island Kitchen & Bar, the upscale boutique property reflects its Stock Island location – inspired by Commodore Perry, the father of the United States Navy, the property has been thoughtfully cultivated to stay true to the seafaring roots of Old Key West while providing a luxurious respite from the hustle & bustle of Duvall.
The unique hotel design, blending Key West’s seafaring history with sleek modern touches, has been garnering attention since the hotel opened its doors last May. In 2017, Architectural Digest named the Perry one of the 12 Best Designed Hotels opening that year, and the property later went on to win a Gold Key Award for Excellence in Hospitality Design at the Boutique Design Trade Fair that November.
Although the hotel’s first anniversary has come and gone, 2018 has brought new honors to the property – the hotel is currently in the running for a 2018 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Award and has been named a finalist in Hospitality Design’s 14th Annual HD Awards. Matt’s Stock Island Kitchen & Bar has also started to attract attention for its American “coastal comfort” food, utilizing fresh fish caught locally. Within the last month, the restaurant received an Open Table Diners’ Choice Award for the second consecutive year as well as being named one of the 10 Best Restaurants in Key West by TimeOut.
With its thoughtful design, old-world inspiration & a dedicated team of hard-working Artists, there’s no doubt the Perry Key West will continue to gain recognition throughout 2018 and beyond.
